TOGU product innovation provides effective training stimuli – made in Germany
TOGU has been creating innovations for better health and fitness at its headquarters in Prien am Chiemsee since 1956. The latest innovation from the family-run specialist for air-filled training equipment and play balls are the PAB rings – manufactured in Germany. They consist of two rings, each weighing approx. 850 grams, which can be used in a variety of ways with the exercises from the Power and Balance concept. Thanks to the robust yet flexible material, the handy training equipment is extremely durable and 100 per cent recyclable.
PAB – this combination of letters stands for ‘Power and Balance’, i.e. what the rings promise the user. They also provide perfect support for targeted balance and strength training. These handy, non-slip rings, each weighing around 850 grams, are specially designed for the health and fitness sector and offer a wide range of uses – both in group fitness and for training at home, as they can be ideally integrated into everyday life.
Variable use
In addition to classic exercises for stability and muscle building, the rings can also be used for walking or running. The additional weight intensifies running training on the one hand and strengthens the arm and upper body muscles on the other. The PAB rings are particularly suitable for exercises that improve balance and body stability. Whether static postures or dynamic movements – the Power and Balance concept takes the training routine to a new level and contributes significantly to improved coordination and strength. An important aspect of the PAB rings is their user-friendliness. They can be easily integrated into existing workouts and offer a variety of exercises that can be customised to the individual needs and fitness levels of the user. This flexibility also makes them the ideal tool for personal trainers and gyms who want to offer their clients a varied and effective training method.
For individual and group training
Especially in old age, strong muscles and a good sense of balance are crucial for avoiding falls and maintaining mobility. With the PAB rings, training becomes more effective and easier, maintaining physical and mental fitness in the long term. The rings are not only suitable for individuals, but also ideal for group activities. Participants can learn from each other and motivate each other, which contributes to a positive and inspiring training atmosphere. This
not only promotes physical fitness, but also social cohesion and motivation within the group. ‘To summarise, TOGU’s PAB rings are an excellent choice for anyone who wants to do something for their figure, health and well-being,’ says Gabi Fastner, state-certified gymnastics instructor and author of numerous fitness guides. With their great versatility and user-friendliness, the PAB rings offer valuable support for anyone who wants to actively promote their health and enjoy a holistic training experience. Whether in the gym, group training or at home, PAB rings are the perfect companion on the road to a stronger, fitter and more balanced lifestyle.
Grip variations and exercise examples
The PAB rings lend themselves to many different grip variations. In the first variant, the new addition from the company from Prien am Chiemsee can be held away from the body by resting both thumbs on a ring. The next option is to hold the PAB rings close to the body with a stable wrist – the rings are gripped completely. Both rings can also be held in one hand, whereby the weight is shifted to a centre of gravity. The rings are also gripped completely in this case. The next variation continues with both hands. This involves pushing the elbows outwards and gripping the ring with both palms. The thumbs rest on one ring. Pulling or pushing training is now possible and uses different muscle groups.
To mobilise the shoulder girdle and shoulder joints, start with an upright, hip-width stance, holding one of the two PAB rings in each hand. As you inhale, turn your palms outwards – as well as your shoulders. And as you exhale, the palms are turned forwards while the shoulders are turned inwards. Cardiovascular training and core stabilisation are also possible with the PAB rings. A ring is held in each hand and the arms are placed at right angles to the body. The sternum is also lifted and the gaze is directed upwards. ‘Of course, this exercise also works wonderfully in nature,’ notes Fastner.
The back extensor muscles and balance can also be improved or promoted. We recommend starting in the bench position with both PAB rings resting on your back. The hands are positioned on the floor below the shoulder joints and the knees below the hip joints. ‘Make sure that the spine is kept in its natural double S curve, while the head remains in extension of the spine,’ explains Fastner. Now it’s time to exhale and stretch one arm at the same time as the opposite leg. Then hold the position briefly before inhaling and returning to the starting position. Repeat on the other side. This exercise not only strengthens the back extensor muscles, but also promotes balance and stability throughout the body. Perfect for training at home, in a club or at the gym.
